Lion Park

Last Sunday afternoon my husband and I decided to visit the Lion Park which is situated in the middle of Johannesburg not too far from where we currently reside.

According to the official website (www.lion-park.com), the Lion Park is known as an eco-tourism destination rather than a zoo because it focuses on the well-being and regeneration of animals particularly the wild-dog, the white lion and the cheetah.

Entrance fees are currently R240 per person for a self drive in your own car and an additional R30 if you wish to play with the lion cubs. There are also guided drives available at an additional cost.

The lions are usually fed on a Sunday and it was quite intriguing watching them tear at chunks of what could have been a cow or a buck.

A Giraffe - We were at the same level as the Giraffe because we were standing on a nearby staircase
